Product Team Meetings
By Mike Vincent
In mid September, I, along with other INETA NorAm board members, had the pleasure of meeting with several product teams at Microsoft while in Redmond for an INETA board of directors meeting. Our objective was to explore ways in which we can work more closely together to bring additional information and content to our user groups and help the product teams effectively reach the developer community.
In our product team meetings, we shared our overall INETA Programs for MSFT FY 09 including speakers bureau, regional speakers, virtual presentations and INETA Live as well as regular communications through our newsletter. We will be adding product focus to our newsletters. Also, a common thread for INETA and the product teams is one of measurement.
Product group teams we met with included Visual Studio Languages (C#, VB), Visual Studio Team System, Dynamic Languages (IronPython, IronRuby, DLR), VSX (extensibility, ecosystem and the SDK), ASP .NET, Patterns and Practices, and Virtual Earth. Over the next couple of months we'll be working out some specific programs for our user group community.
